sunlight flash on scales of gold
wingspan cross the sky
age of dragonflight unfolds
horizon meets the eye
flights on high, the air is cold
beyond the distant sea
inborn spark desire for gold
from distant memory
ascending at the break of day
transcending gravity
instinct guides and shows the way
to realms of fantasy
age of dragonkind
we somehow always knew
rules were undefined (left behind)
our way of life rang true
moonlight glow on plains of gold
doubt enters dragon cry
what was clear is growing cold
instincts go awry
stamina maintains the way
remembrance of the true
tradition as its own display
informs our point of view
hints arise of something lost
with instinct vague and weak
rigidity reveals the cost
rules blocking what we seek
age of dragonkind
is coming to an end
leave the past behind
so spirit can ascend
sunlight on the water
spirit flying free
the physical is left behind all cares are gone
fulfilled reality
in every moment
how could we go astray
answers are so obvious
beyond the mind
beyond defines
true clarity’s display
can this be remembered within the realms of earth
return from dreams
with consciousness
return to realms of senses
at rebirth
into the challenge
of vagueness and dismay
remembering this sunlight
this clarity, reality
can seem to far away
awakening in darkness
or so it seems to be
gravity on body weight
antithesis of free
air in all its thickness
fades the clarity
how can i remember
when senses disagree
dragon body on its own
impulse to reach the sky
now a childish fantasy
atrophied wings don’t fly
dreams of dragonkind
reflected memory
spark of something still alive
inside still flying free
