you’ve a lot on your plate
you’ve gone a bridge too far

you’re all over the map
with all your eggs in one basket
you’ve got to lower the bar

I said a fresh pair of eyes
above and beyond
will blow the cobwebs away

if I cast a long shadow
while I’m chasing rainbows
will you say I’m no work and all play

the little bird told me
you’re ahead of the curve
but you’re all dressed up with nowhere to go

an ounce of protection’s
worth a pound of cure
be sure you’ve got all your ducks in a row

you’re coming up roses
but you can’t see the forest for the trees

it’s your day in the sun
but your days are numbered
if you wear your heart on your sleeve

I said: I’ll go the distance
and I’ll dot all my i’s
and then I’ll cross all my t’s

but if I sweat all the small stuff
and I’m taken by storm
I’ll know that’s the nature of the beast
